"Dover Man Is Accident Victim
Edward Albea, of Dover, was killed yesterday afternoon at 6:30 o'clock when he was struck by an automobile as he attempted to cross the highway near his station, County Traffic Patrolman Kuneman said. The officer also said that witnesses exonerated Kelly Raulerson, of Turkey Creek, driver of the car.
Albea operated a station near Dover with living quarters in the rear, the officer said, and had gone to bed early. He heard a truck stop in front and got up but by the time he got to the front the truck was gone, he added.
"He had been looking for a soft drink truck," he said, "and thinking that it was the truck which stopped, he started walking down the road , hoping to catch it at the next place. He spoke to Mrs. E. E. Jenkins on the other side of the road and started across. He stopped as if going to wait on the car and Raulerson proceeded. Albea apparently became addled and ran into the highway. Raulerson applied the brakes and the car turned around, striking Albea with the right rear fender, fracturing his skull."
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. B. M. Banks, of Dover"
